The fact that they owned little did make escaping easier. Obi-Wan had stashed what little he had and some food outside the Temple and grabbed the satchel as they passed. They were out of the Jedi stronghold, but not out of their easy range. They needed to get offworld immediately to begin investigating what was going on.
