Once unconsciousness took her, Siri barely stirred at all until morning. And even when she finally woke, she was still weak and unsteady, her head throbbing in time with her heartbeat as she fought to push herself up, and off the bottom bunk, choking back a keening cry of pain as the movement made white-hot agony pulse through her injuries.
